STAFF: ALL of our staff members receive daily supervision by a Board Certified Behavior Analyst. ALL of our staff members are employees of our company, not independent contractors. This means each member of our staff undergoes the same training, and we expect commitment to your child. Agencies employing
independent contractors do not, by law, tell contractors how to do their jobs, meaning you get ‘the luck of the draw’ with your provider.
SUPPORT: Florida Autism Center recognizes your need for support in other settings. We gladly help you prepare for IEP meetings, complete funding applications, and accompany you to meetings or events in which you may need our support.
SOCIAL OPPORTUNITIES: Social settings and activities are provided daily for children receiving service in our clinic. Florida Autism Center provides the best social experience of any provider of our kind. You will frequently find our children engaged in circle time, friendship building activities, game play and other great events.
TRANSITION: Children in our program have opportunities, once they are ready, to have our staff help them transition to ‘regular’ programs. Also, for children receiving in-center service, we provide wrap services to the home or to other settings as needed.
PARENT INVOLVEMENT: Florida Autism Center has an open door policy. You are always welcome and encouraged to be a part of your child’s education. Parent training in basic principles of behavior as well as specific programs for your child is highly recommended.
NORMALCY: Many special educational programs are so far removed from typical educational practices that children miss out on certain‘rights of passage.’ Florida Autism Center has book fairs, picture day, field trips and other events that a child deserves to experience regardless of disability. Most of these events are organized by our wonderful parents.
FUNDING SUPPORT: Florida Autism Center accepts more funding sources than any other local agency. Also, no program will work harder than Florida Autism Center to help you find scholarships, loans, or other financial assistance. Scholarship programs are available for those who qualify, and we gladly accept most major insurances. We have a full-time professional who is100% committed to helping you navigate the terms of your insurance policy. Please see our “Funding” page for more information.
INDIVIDUALIZED PROGRAMMING: Your child is never a number at Florida Autism Center. Each piece of your child’s program is tailor-made specifically for him or her. If your child is, for example, highly talented at art but non-verbal, that’s not a problem for us. We will foster his or her artistic skills while creating intensive instruction for language acquisition.
PROGRESS AND ACCOUNTABILITY: Your child WILL make progress in our program. We’ll guarantee to SHOW you progress through program mastery and we’ll promise to give you daily and monthly progress reports so that you’ll know we’re making socially significant change.
HAPPY KIDS: Florida Autism Center’s staff members love the kids they work with. Our love for our job shows, and, quite simply, our kids know that we really like them. Kids aren’t seen as a burden, instead they are cause for celebration. We enjoy seeing your child learn something new perhaps as much as you do, and we certainly share our enthusiasm with each child we’re lucky enough to get to know. 99% of the time our kids are dropped off and picked up smiling. When you pair your child’s happiness in our program with their success here, there’s clearly every reason to choose the Florida Autism Center.
